If there’s one thing I like more than gold, it’s baseball…

America’s pastime has the magic power to transport even the most jaded Americans back to a state of sheer childhood joy. So when I heard that the U.S. Mint was issuing gold coins to commemorate my favorite sport, I was thrilled…

These aren’t just any coins, they are the first “curved currency” issued by the Mint. The 2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Proof $5 Gold Coin is curved inward like a baseball mitt. They are pretty slick looking…

The coins are 90% gold and weigh 8.359 grams each.

These coins are being issued to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. But I wasn’t the only one excited about these collectibles — because as of this morning, they are going, going gone…

These unique numismatics were limited to a run of 50,000 and just sold out today.

But — lucky for us — silver dollars and silver half-dollars are still available. You can check out their inventory here
